William Brooks is a London and Pembrokeshire-based artist who obtained a first-class honours degree in BA Photography with Creative Computing from UAL Camberwell in 2022. His artistic practice primarily concerns visually and conceptually articulating the intangible nature of the electromagnetic radio spectrum. Brooks has exhibited his work in various cities such as Lausanne, Glasgow, and London. He was announced as one of the winners of the Small File Photo Festival 2023 at the Photographers' Gallery in London. Brooks' work explores the ethereal 'Radio Frequency Landscape' by investigating and questioning the intentional and unintentional propagation of information, highlighting the intermingling of electromagnetism, time, place, and human agency. Through his art, Brooks seeks to create a dialogue around humanity's Promethean desire to impress upon an otherwise naturally occurring space and the technologies employed to achieve this.
